♥ Home Nursing Company, Inc. was incorporated in August, 1987. The working owners are Carole Fields, RN and Bobbi Neal, RN. Currently, Home Nursing Company, Inc. employs a staff of one hundred and twenty five; including: Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Home Health Aides, Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Licensed Physical Therapy Assistants, Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants, Speech Therapists, Medical Social Workers, Chaplains, and Clerical Staff. We currently serve eleven counties in Southwest Virginia. Each office is stratigically located to allow travel to each county to be less than one hour for the response to patient's needs.
Home Nursing Company, Inc. is a Medicare Certified Home Health Agency and also a Licensed Hospice service. The Agency; both Home Health and Hospice, is accredited by the Joint Commission.
PHILOSOPHY: The philosophy of this agency is to treat each individual with honor, respect, and a reverence that is fitting to dignity as a human being. Individuals shall be accorded impartial access to treatment available or medically indicated regardless of race/color, creed, sex, national origin, marital status, age, or handicap. Even though infirmities or disabilities may necessitate a degree of dependency, it is the aim of this agency to assist the patient to regain his/her capacities to the fullest extent possible through rehabilitation. It is not our aim to repress, but to stimulate and encourage a return to self care as far as humanly possible.
The Hospice and Palliative Care Philosophy: The philosophy of Hospice and Palliative Care is founded upon a belief in the sacred dignity of human life, and the importance of respecting the creed and philosophy of every individual. We believe that all people are responsible both for themselves and for one another. So believing, we are committed to providing such compassionate and competent care as to affirm life to our patients. We believe that each person's dying is a human experience which affects all who have a relationship with him or her, and it is always a privilege to be allowed by a patient and his/her family to provide them with care and services at a time of need, especially during the final phases of life.
Hospice and Palliative Care is an idea, not a place. Our purpose is to provide care that will enhance the quality of the remaining life for those who are facing a terminal illness. The purpose of Hospice and Palliative Care is to provide support and care for persons in the last phases of life so that they can live as fully and comfortably as possible. Hospice and Palliative Care affirms life and regards dying as a normal process. Hospice and Palliative Care neither hastens nor postpones death. Hospice and Palliative Care believes that through personalized services and a caring community, patients and families can attain the necessary preparation for death that is satisfactory to them.

♥ The HomMed Telemonitoring System used by Home Nursing Company, Inc. is installed in the patient's home and transmits daily vital signs to be assessed by a nurse who contacts the physician with the results, enabling early intervention in case the vital signs indicate the need.
